OCTOBER 16-21, 2011 - GREAT CACAPON, WEST VIRGINA - PASTOR JEFF DISSMORE
It was a beautiful time to come to West Virginia, just as the fall leaves were bursting forth with beautiful grandeur.
Our desire was that as these gorgeous colors radiated the glory of our Great Creator, even so might the outpouring of the Holy Ghost demonstrate the power of God in this revival. Our destination was The People's Assembly of God up on the mountain in Great Cacapon, West Virginia where Jeff and Debbie Dissmore pastor.
The Lord faithfully confirmed His word by the powerful working of the Holy Ghost as he drew men and women to new dedication and refilling. As the altar call was given one of the nights the man who owns the 100 acre Mountain Resort where we were privileged to stay almost ran to the altar, throwing his hands in the air and seeking with all of his heart to be baptized with the Holy Ghost. It was not long until Pentecost was demonstrated again, and he was filled and speaking in another tongue. Hallelujah! What a time of shouting and rejoicing followed.
Earnest prayer and hot preaching of the Word bring results. It is God that gives the increase. It is His work that changes hearts and lives. He knows how to change what seems impossible to change... for He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. Oh, God let your power work in us mightily is our cry to Him.
We were happy to have Rev. and Mrs R. D. Smith visit the services. We have always had a special appreciation for both of them.
To God be the glory for all that He did during these meetings. We are thankful and praise His worthy name. God is working in the church and we appreciated those who faithfully came night after night. Some left much different than when they came, for they were touched by the hand of God!
Sister Dissmore was a gracious host, preparing for us an afternoon meal and snack after service each day at their home. We enjoyed the times of fellowship with the Dissmores, and recalling fond memories of their children, Jennifer, Carrie, and Joe. Each of them graduated from FGBI.
What a great blessing and treat it was to stay at the rustic Cacapon Hideaway back through the woods and dirt road to the mountain top. It was a beautiful place at a beautiful time when all the leaves had turned such brilliant colors. We enjoyed it thoroughly and thank Charlie and his wife for making it available. It was a special enjoyment to see deer almost everyday.
Sister Dissmore reported that on the Sunday after we left, revival was continuing on in the lives of the people. There were many testimonies of what God had done and a good spirit prevailed. Thank you Lord!
