Huffman is located thirty miles northeast of Downtown Houston in the piney woods of southeastern Texas. Its 54 square miles houses approximately ten thousand people. What a place for God to establish a lighthouse shining forth the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ!

That is what we found as we arrived at the Pentecostal Church of God and were greeted by Pastor Victor Persinger and his wonderful family, and church laborers.

With plenty of willing help we were soon settled in our home for the week and enjoying the thoughtful delivery of food for our supper! What would God do here at Huffman? Our thoughts and prayers were focused on seeing the power of God bring revival to his people. We were excited and ready to see it happen!

As Sunday School began we saw something that is rare to see. People in the congregation came to the front to share something with the church. Individuals, couples, and entire families came up to sing, with several quoting large portions of scripture that they had studied and learned. It was an impressive blessing!

There was a special zeal for the Lord in the services, as the pastor passionately led us in prayer and worship. One of the pastor's sons, James, did a tremendous job of teaching the adult Bible class with a strong scriptural lesson. He is also the very talented and anointed organist.  The church is blessed with musicians who don't just play their instruments, but who are clearly worshipping the Lord as they play. Another of the pastor's sons, William, drew the congregation to worship with his song leading.

How blessed are those revival services when the atmosphere is already charged by the Spirit of God and people's hearts are open to receive. God anointed Brother Goodwin as he preached the powerful truths of God's Word night after night and as you can see in these pictures, the people responded yielding their lives to the Lord in full dedication and surrender. Some came with their struggles and found deliverance. Others prayed to be filled with the Spirit. Many came with a burden for reaching the lost and desiring the Lord to use their lives.

The Pentecostal praying encouraged in God's Word brings powerful results. Ephesians 6:18 calls believers to be "praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints."

It was a joy to see many doing that very thing...praying earnestly for one another. In another scripture the Lord urges believers to "...pray one for another, giving the assurance that "the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

We rejoice in the move of God that touched many lives in these revival meetings. God wants to strengthen his church and send them forth to take the Gospel to this world. It was great to hear of the outreach this church is involved in as they preach on the streets, minister in the jails and juvenile detention centers, and hospitals.  May the revival fires continue to burn at Huffman Pentecostal Church of God!

Pastor and Sister Persinger blessed us each night after church with all kinds of delicious food at their home. We certainly enjoyed the wonderful fellowship as well.
